Journalist & editorial consultant


Lance Harris is a business, technology and entertainment writer and editorial consultant with more than 15 years of experience. He began his career at Computing SA (the South African ComputerWorld affiliate at the time) as a journalist in 1995, moving up to editor, before being appointed as managing editor of the ICT magazines within Johnnic’s trade publishing division.

In 2001, he left Johnnic (now known as Avusa) to embark on a freelance career and broaden his writing horizons. He has since written on a range of topics, from consumer technology, information technology, telecommunications and entertainment through to the healthcare, financial services, transport, mining and media industries.

His work has been published in many of South Africa’s top business and technology publications including African Communications, Brainstorm, TechCentral, the Financial Mail, TechSmart and the University of Stellenbosch Business School’s  Agenda magazine. Lance has also contributed to books such as South Africa’s Greatest Entrepreneurs (published by MME Media in association with Gordon Institute of Business Science).

Lance holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Psychology from Rhodes University.
